Also called Tower Shaft or Tower Mountain Shaft. It is considered to be one of the two oldest Bochnia mine shafts and was sunk in the middle of the XIII century. Its name comes from the Latin gaza, meaning shack, a salt-works tower or just the salt-works itself. Due to its location the shaft was constantly exposed to the floods of Babica. In 1842 it was finally filled in.
